Who are SSAFA?

SSAFA (formerly known as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association) is the Armed Forces charity in the UK. They have been helping to provide lifelong practical, emotional and financial support to the men, women and veterans who serve (or have previously served in) the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force since 1885. Their ongoing support extends to the families and dependants of those listed above.

SSAFA exists to relieve need, suffering and distress amongst the Armed Forces, veterans and their families in order to support their independence and dignity. They work tirelessly to ensure that the needs of those who are affected are met in an appropriate and timely way.

What is Rally For Heroes 2018?

Rally for Heroes organise various car events for charity. Their signature event is the biennial Rally For Heroes road trip.

They’re passionate about creating charity events like no other and aim to raise huge amounts of money whilst doing so. This attitude has not only earnt them endorsements by the likes of Ben Collins, Bear Grylls and James Martin, it allowed them to raise more than £125,000.00 for SSAFA in the 2016 rally.

Rally For Heroes are true supporters of SSAFA and have once again decided to select them as their chosen charity for their biennial rally across Europe in 2018. This year the cars will drive 5 miles for every serviceman or woman who has fallen since the conflict in Afghanistan began. The route will take the cars from the UK over to France, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Germany, and Luxembourg.

Rally For Heroes are once again hoping to smash their target of raising £100,000.00 for SSAFA.

How are InfiSIM involved?

Rally For Heroes wanted to provide people around the world with a way of monitoring the cars involved in the event. This way everyone at home would be able to find out the exact location of their favourite cars from the comfort of their own homes. That’s where we come in…

Each car is fitted with a GPS tracker that allows us to view the exact location of every vehicle and see other nifty statistics (such as the speed they are moving at), all in real time.

This is all enabled by a multi-network roaming M2M SIM card provided by InfiSIM.
